Nai Thon Beach and its sister Nai Yang Beach are two secluded beaches on the northwestern side of Phuket. A newly tarred road zigzags over the undulating hills, past rubber plantations. You will catch glimpses of the Andaman Sea which is a beautiful emerald green at the horizon.
Eventually you descend the last hill to find yourself in a quiet cove with the waves lapping its shore. This is Nai Thon beach. Both ends of the beach are flanked with rocky headlands that jut out to the sea. The rocks offer excellent fishing. There are some stalls on the road, and small bungalows perched on the headland.

A little to the north of Nai Thon beach is Nai Yang beach. This isolated beach is located within the Nai Yang National Park. Away from the tourist crowds, Nai Yang beach is a popular picnic place for the Thais. Here you find the food stalls and vendors at the roadside making good business from the locals.
You can swim here during low tide. There is a large coral reef a short distance offshore which harbors a considerable variety of sea life. Seashells often wash ashore here especially after a monsoon storm.
