About Phra Nakhon
Phra Nakhon is one of the 50 districts or khet of Bangkok. It is the most central district of the city. Phra Nakhon district is where Rattanakosin is located. The district is adjacent to Dusit, Pom Prap Sattru Phai and Samphanthawong districts, with the Chao Phraya River bordering it to the west, Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem canal to the north, Ratchadamnoen road and Khlong Ong Ang canal to the east.
It is at Phra Nakhon that the City Pillar Shrine, marking the very heart of Bangkok, is located. Other sights in Phra Nakhon district includes all the sights within Rattanakosin such as the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
How to go to Phra Nakhon District
As there are no Skytrains or Bangkok Metro to this area, you need to take a taxi to reach it.
