About Saphan Han Market

Saphan Han Market is a market on both sides of the Khlong Ong Ang canal, which separates the Chinatown proper from the Phahurat district, which is the Bangkok Little India.

Saphan Han Market covers an area which comprise five alleys on one side of Khlong Ong Ang, and another two alleys on the opposite side. Yaowarat Soi 33, on the eastern side of the Khlong Ong Ang is the entrance to the market area. Entering, you are confronted by a rat maze of stalls. The passages seem dimly lit - even though you can see flourescent tubes aplenty. The skylight at the ceiling let some light in.

Here, you can find clothes, textiles, handbags, shoes, mostly ladies' items, as is also reflected in the shoppers visiting Saphan Han Market.

How to reach Saphan Han Market

Again, as of now, there are no Skytrains to this area. You can take a taxi, or if you are willing to walk, then take the Bangkok Metro to the Hualamphong subway station, and walk from there.
