Wat Tung Yu
Wat Tung Yu is a small Buddhist monastery along Ratchadamnoen Road, a short distance away from Wat Phra Singh, in the old city of Chiang Mai. I remember it for its viharn which is very close to the trees of the compound, making it hard for me to get good shots.
Behind the viharn is the chedi, which is whitewashed and topped with a gilded spire. On the other side of the compound is the ubosot. It has a short, marble staircase flanked by the undulating balustrade of makara spewing out nagas.
Getting there
From Tha Phae Gate, walk along Ratchadamnoen Road until you reach Wat Tung Yu, on the right side of the road, about 3100 ft from the gate, within sight of Wat Phra Singh at the end of the road.
