Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda, at 50 Ly Quoc Su Street, is a quintessential Vietnamese-style temple in Hanoi, with ornate walls painted yellow and red. The original pagoda was built in 1131, and has been renovated many times since then.

Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is also known as Chua Kong, or Confucious Pagoda. I explored the Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda with my fiancée (now wife) Chooi Yoke when we were documenting the sights in Hanoi for AsiaExplorers. We arrived too early in the morning, as a result the doors weren't open yet. However, we didn't have time to wait for it to open, as we were hurrying off elsewhere on that day.

The inside of the Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is said to house many finely carved statues as well as lacquered wooden statues, some dating back to the 15th century.
