Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda
@ Chua Ly Trieu Quoc Su, @ Chua Kong, 50 Ly Quoc Su Street, Hanoi
Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda, at 50 Ly Quoc Su Street, is a quintessential Vietnamese-style temple in Hanoi, with ornate walls painted yellow and red. The original pagoda was built in 1131, and has been renovated many times since then.

Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is also known as Chua Kong, or Confucious Pagoda. I explored the Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda with my fiancée (now wife) Chooi Yoke when we were documenting the sights in Hanoi for AsiaExplorers. We arrived too early in the morning, as a result the doors weren't open yet. However, we didn't have time to wait for it to open, as we were hurrying off elsewhere on that day.
The inside of the Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is said to house many finely carved statues as wekk as lacquered wooden statues, some dating back to the 15th century.
How to go to Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda
Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is on the same road as St Joseph's Cathedral. From St Joseph's Cathedral, go along Ly Quoc Su Street with the cathedral on your left, and you will arrive at Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda within a minute or two.
