Nha Hat Chuong Vang, or Golden Bell Theatre, is a heritage building in the Old Quarters of Hanoi. It is located on Hang Bac Street (Silver Street), one of the oldest streets in Hanoi, and was where silversmiths used to settle when they moved into Hanoi. Today Hang Bac is one of the many streets in the Old Quarters given over to selling cheap counterfeit branded t-shirts, watches and the like. I looked for and found it when documenting the sights in Hanoi for AsiaExplorers.

Nha Hat Chuong Vang is a traditional Vietnamese theatre. The history of the Vietnamese revolution is closely interwoven into the fabric of the theatre's history, for it also served as the headquarters of the Hanoi Guards. In 1947, freedom fighters pledged their allegiance to the revolution from the steps of the theatre.
Today, the Golden Bell Theatre is only one of the reminders of Hanoi's heritage, often overlooked by present-day tourists too busy seeking out the latest souvenirs on Hanoi's busy streets. By documenting this building, I hope that the history of Hanoi will be better appreciated by travel enthusiasts.
