Sóc Trăng Travel Guide, Vietnam
Sóc Trăng is a small city in southern Vietnam. Located south of the Mekong Delta, it gained city status in 2007. The city today has a population of about 175,000 people (2011 estimate). It comprises ten administrative areas.
Most of the inhabitants of Sóc Trăng are Kinh people. Other major minority groups living here include ethnic Chinese and Khmers. There are some fifty temples in Sóc Trăng, the most famous of which include the Khmer temple Chua Doi (Bat Pagoda) and Chua Dat Set (Clay Pagoda).
