Thap Rua, or Tortoise Tower, is a three-storey pagoda located in the middle of Ho Hoan Kiem, in the middle of Hanoi.
The Thap Rua was built in the 18th century, and is one of the most recognised landmarks in Hanoi. I saw it plenty of times when I was and documenting Hanoi, but strangely, I was never able to get a totally satisfactory photograph of it - I was always at the wrong direction at the wrong time of day.
I am still looking for more information on the Tortoise Tower. If you know who built it, and when exactly, please let me know by filling up the Add Comment section below.

How to go to Thap Rua
Thap Rua is located in the middle of the Lake of the Returned Sword. You cannot go to it, and has to be satisfied with watching it from the lakeside. .
